Covid-19 Buses Travel Guidance

Everyone’s health and safety is our top priority.

Please help us to help you by following the below guidance.

Don’t travel unwell

If you feel unwell, please don’t travel. If you have coronavirus-like symptoms, stay at home and call 111 if you need help.

One at a time boarding

Only one person should stand on the entrance platform at a time, and stand behind the line.

Pay by contactless

Wherever possible, only use cash as a last resort.

Social distancing

  • Please try to keep at least one metre between you and the other passengers at all times.
  • Where possible always try to occupy a window seat
  • If travelling as a family group, try to stay together
  • Please be patient while getting on and off and do not queue in the aisle or next to the driver
  • Please open windows to help with ventilation
  • If you need assistance please ask the driver as normal
  • When the bus is full please ring the bell if you want to get off at the next stop

 

 

Face covering

As of Monday June 15th, face coverings are mandatory on all public transport, e.g. mask, scarf or bandana. Please note a list of exceptions below.

Public Transport Face Covering Exceptions....

You do not need to wear a face covering if you have a good reason not to. This includes:

  • not being able to put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability
  • if putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause you severe distress
  • if you are travelling with or providing assistance to someone who relies on lip reading to communicate
  • to avoid harm or injury, or the risk of harm or injury, to yourself or others
  • to avoid injury, or to escape a risk of harm, and you do not have a face covering with you
  • to eat or drink, but only if you need to
  • to take medication
  • if a police officer or other official requests you remove your face covering

Cough or sneeze hygienically

If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into the inside of your arm.

Wash your hands

Try to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitiser, before and after travelling by bus.
