PASSENGER INFORMATION

  • 61 Clipper
  • 6 (Sundays and Public Holidays)

These routes have been funded by the developer of the Fossetts Parks retail site for the past 10 years, a result of a Section 106 planning decision. Their obligation to provide transport ceases this month.

Unfortunately, there are so few passengers that use the service it would not be viable for us to provide a service commercially, however, we will trial a limited Monday to Friday service.

The new timetable will commence 24th July.

Service 6, (Sundays and Bank Holidays) the last day of operation will be 23rd July 2017.

There will be a small increase to some of our bus fares with effect from the 01st April 2017.

We have kept these to a minimum during a period where we have seen a significant rise in operating costs.

Typically the increase will be 10p on a single journey and 20p or 30p  on a day or return ticket.

Similarly, weekly tickets will generally increase by £1 and four weekly by £4.

Services that will see these increases include both our commercial and ECC supported services.

We are pleased to announce that, with the support of Essex County Council, our schedules for services 301, 441 and 446 have been revised.

The new timetables will come into effect on Monday the 17th of October; we trust that these alterations will bring an improvement to punctuality of arrivals at Joyce Frankland Academy and Saffron Walden County High School.

Additionally, service 301 will now stop opposite S.W.C.H.S Monday to Friday on the Home to School a.m. journey (07:38 from Bishops Stortford). An adjustment to the afternoon return trip will better coincide with the school closing times.

We will continue to monitor the performance of these services following the timetable alterations.

As of Monday 8th August 2016 many Stephensons local bus fares will be subject to change to reflect increases in operating costs.

In most cases, there will be an increase to the standard single and return fares.

From January 12th, we are making various changes at the request of Suffolk County Council.

In summary:

School time buses are unchanged (except that the morning bus no longer goes to the Riverside college site)

Off peak buses on weekdays are revised, on Tuesday, Wednesdays & Fridays there is still a bus to/from Bury St Edmunds but at revised times; on Mondays & Thursdays there are two trips from Mildenhall to Newmarket instead, serving Freckenham, Chippenham and Snailwell Green.

The early afternoon bus then returns from Mildenhall to Bury St Edmunds on all days.

The late afternoon bus from Bury is unchanged.

On Saturdays, there are slight timing changes to most trips.

For WEST ROW, the bus will now be numbered 20 between Mildenhall and West Row and most trips will also serve College Heath Road and Field Road in Mildenhall.
