Further road closures will cause bus 32 to be diverted in Writtle on July 14 to 16, between about 0900 and 1500, as follows:

Monday July 14th – to divert from BBC Essex via Miami Roundabout, Widford roundabouts and A414 past Hylands Park, omitting Writtle completely.

Tuesday 15th & Wednesday 16th – as normal from Chelmsford to Writtle Rd/Westway junction, thewn via Westway to Widford roundabouts and A414 past Hylands Park, omitting Writtle completely.

Then there is a closure advertised at Blackmore on Thursday July 17 but Essex County Council are currentlty unable to confirm to us exactly when or where!

We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause.

From July 14 to 18, bus 17 will be diverted between Mildenhall and West Row due to a road closure.  Because of extra time needed for the diversion the following changes will be made:

0935 Mildenhall to West Row runs EARLIER at 0920

0941 West Row to Mildenhall runs EARLIER at 0932

1100 Mildenhall to West Row runs EARLIER at 1045

1330 Mildenhall to Bury runs about 15 minutes late.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this road closure.

UPDATE at 1110:  we understand the road is now reopening and buses should return to normal within the next hour or so.

Bus 6 is currently terminating in Saffron Walden High Street and cannot serve the hospital or Tescos, due to a closure of Radwinter Road for resurfacing.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but we were not notified about this in advance, the first we knew was when our drivers found the road closed this morning!  We do not know how long the closure will last.

And a reminder of more disruption to come:

Saturday July 5 - some afternoon buses will turn short of the town centre at Cromwell Road due to the Carnival procession.

Monday July 7 - Tour de France - buses diverted to/from Carver Barracks, not serving Saffron Walden at all (except first/last buses) - see separate story for revised timetable.

Due to road closures in the town centre on Saturday afternoon, the service 6 buses due into Saffron Walden at 1400 and 1500 will terminate at Cromwell Road and will NOT serve the High Street, Hospital or Tescos.  The buses that normally start at Tescos at 1425 and 1525 will both start instead from Cromwell Road at their usual times there (1438 & 1548) and again, will NOT serve the town centre.

Bus 313 due into Saffron Walden at 1449 will terminate short of the town centre, depending on progress with the procession.

We apologies for any inconvenience.

Due to a road closure, from June 30 to July 3, the 513 bus will divert between East Hanningfield and Rettendon via Pan Lane and Southend Road.  Any passengers normally boarding on East Hanningfield Road will need to walk to the bus stop on the main road at the Bell pub instead.

We apologise for any inconvenience, but the closure is outside of our control.  The precise times of the road being closed and then re-opened each day cannot be guaranteed and we do not want to risk the bus getting trapped part way along the closed section!

From June 30th until July 9 (or when-ever the road works are completed), Breeze 3 will not be able to use Abbot Road or Ashwell Road due to a road closure.  Instead, buses will divert via Flemyng Rd, Westley Rd, Gainsborough Rd, Cadogan Rd, Park Rd, Highbury Rd to Priors Ave.  Buses will stop anywhere it is safe to do so on the diversion.

Normal service will resume as soon as the works are fully completed, but whilst the work is under way, ALL buses each day will divert.

We apologise for any invconvenience caused, which is outside of our control.

We have agreed a revised plan with Essex CC for the road closures on Thursday June 19 and Friday June 20, from 0900 to 1530.  On those two days, the following buses will be diverted from Blackmore via Hook End and Stondon Massey and as a result, wil run about 7 minutes later than usual; at stops beyond the diversion:

0910, 1110, 1310 Chelmsford to Ongar

1010, 1210, 1410 Ongar to Chelmsford.

Other buses on those 2 days should run as normal, subject to the contractors reopening the road on time.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused, which is beyond our control.

The Tour de France race will pass through north west and central Essex on Monday July 7.  This will result in significant road closures and changes to bus services.  The following changes will apply:

Buses 5/6 - Bishops Stortford - Stansted Airport - Saffron Walden:  a normal service will run from Bishops Stortford to Stansted Airport and on to Thaxted and Debden, then buses will divert to terminate at Carver Barracks and will NOT serve Saffron Walden, except for isolated early and late buses.

Buses 312/313 - Gt Dunmow to Saffron Walden:  the normal timetable will be suspended and there will be just 2 return trips, Gt Dunmow - Thaxted - Carver Barracks, with no service to Saffron Walden.

Timetables for 5/6 and 313 are here.

Bus 59 - Haverhill - Saffron Walden - Audley End Station:  the evening buses that Stephensons run should operate as normal, subject to roads reopening on time.  The trips run by Hedingham Omnibuses will not run at all and some of the Viceroy trips will not run either.

Buses 51, 52, 53, 91, 94 (Newport and Saffron Walden schools) will NOT run.

Bus 676, Chelmsford to Colchester - the afternoon bus may need to divert in the Chignall estate to avoid the route of the race.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but there are draconian road closures over a huge distance for effectively the whole of the day, which make it impossible for buses to access their normal routes.

We are making some changes to the buses from the Dengie area and South Woodham to Westcliff and Southend schools from September, due to falling passenger numbers.  Bus 503 (incl. 593) will be slightly rerouted and retimed at some stops; bus 514 (incl. 594) will have a revised route within South Woodham and bus 524 will no longer run.

Details are shown here.  All passengers buying tickets through the CSSE office should already have received a letter from them explainig the changes and any alterations to pick up points or times.
