From April 7th we are making some changes to Blackwater Link bus 90 to improve the reliability of the service. We are adding extra time into the journeys to try to avoid the late running that sometimes affects the route. The basic frequency is unchanged but times at individual stops may be a few minutes different to the present timetable. We are also adding an extra bus from the Howbridge Estate into Witham at 0916 on Mondays to Fridays.
In Maldon, the route in the Dorset Road area is being simplified. Buses will all go as a one-way loop via Essex Road (southbound), Dorset Road, Viking Road, Cumberland Avenue and Washington Road. Buses will only go along Essex Road and Dorset Road once, so please board on the correct side of the road. Buses will no longer go along Longship Way or Midguard Way but there are stops nearby in Dorset Road.
New timetables weill be available from drivers nearer to the start date and you can view the details here now.
This road closure has now finished and Suffolk Rider bus 16 is running normally again.
This road closure has finished earlier than anticipated. Buses ae now running by the normal route again.

Due to resurfacing work on Sutton Road, bus 60 will be diverted off-peak from Monday February 17 to Friday February 21. It will not serve Sutton Cemetery or Temple Farm Industrial Estate. Instead, buses will run via Eastern Avenue, Priory Crescent, Manners Way and Southend Road to Rochford. Passengers for Sutton Cemetery stop should alight on Eastern Avenue or use bus 61 instead.
The diversion will apply from the 0915 bus from Southend until 1530. The morning peak bus and afternoon buses from 1600 onwards are NOT diverted.
We apologise for inconvenience caused by this road closure, which is not in our control.

UPDATE FEB 27: the works finished yesterday and the road has re-opened. From today - Thursday 27th - service 17 is running normal route again.
Due to the closure of Elms Road for road works from February 4th until February 26th (revised date), buses on service 17 are unable to serve Freckenham. Instead bus 17 will run direct between Red Lodge and Worlington. Buses through Worlington towards Mildenhall may run up to 5 minutes EARLIER than usual after Red Lodge, as the diversion route is shorter than the normal route, but they will then wait at Mildenhall Bus Station until their usual departure time.
We apologise for the inconvenience, this is due to a road closure outside of our control.

Essex-based Bus and Coach operator Stephensons has taken delivery of two Scania double deck buses, with British built ADL E400 bodywork. At a cost of over £200,000 each, the new vehicles represent further considerable investment by the company, which has continued to upgrade its fleet in recent years.
The new buses are low-floor, and provide easy access for buggies, wheelchairs, and the elderly. They are to the latest clean and green \\\'Euro 5\\\' emission standards, and will be used on Stephensons\\\' local bus, schools, and rail replacement services.
Stephensons\\\' Managing Director Bill Hiron explained:
\\\'We are gradually replacing our older step-entrance buses with DDA-compliant buses, both new and good-quality used models. We\\\'ve invested in excess of £4m in new and nearly-new buses over the last five years to ensure our passengers enjoy the highest standards, and this is just the latest phase of that ongoing process\\\'.
Stephensons has depots at Rochford, Witham and Maldon in Essex, and at Haverhill in Suffolk. Formed in the mid-1970s, the company remains privately owned, and today is the largest independent operator in Essex.
From January 6th, 2014, the morning bus on Mondays to Fridays from Tiptree to Witham will run 10 minutes earlier, to ensure a punctual arrival in Witham. The new times can be viewed here. There are no changes to the times of any other buses on service 91.
