Due to a road closure at Abberton Reservoir, the 176 bus on Monday February 29 will be diverted from Peldon and will not serve Layer de la Haye.  Normal route will be resumed at Kingsford Cross Roads.

We apologise for any inconvenience but the closure is outside of our control and on a section of road where there is no short avoiding route.

Despite being advised that the road was to be closed this week, yesterday the contractors did not turn up, nor again this morning and we have just been told that the work is now postponed until 2017!

Therefore buses 6A and 23 will return to normal working immediately.

We are sorry for the confusion, this has been entirely beyond our control and we are as frustrated as you at the way this has been handled by the contractors.

Local Independent Bus Operator Stephensons has announced a celebration day of one of its most long-serving vehicle types to celebrate their last year in mainstream service.

Now that passengers have had a few weeks to adapt to the new train timetable (and assuming c2c have now stopped altering it again), we are running a short survey to see which trains you use regularly.  This will help us to decide if we need to change the bus times.

To complete the survey please click HERE.  It is quick and easy, just three questions!

We know we cannot satisfy everyone but if we have a better understanding of your preferences, it will help us to give you the best service we can.

The survey will remain open until Monday February 8th so tell your fellow passengers now.

Thanks.

Due to roadworks on Nipsells Chase, buses D1, D2, D6, D7, 510, 593 will be diverted. Instead of using Wembley Avenue or Princes Avenue, they will instead run via Drake Avenue and The Drive.

Temporary bus stops will be in use as follows:

Drake Avenue: at the western end, near The Drive

The Drive – between Princes Avenue and Wembley Avenue

We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause our passengers but the closure is outside of our control.  Normal routes will resume as soon as the roadworks are fully completed.

Stephensons recently sponsored a wolf as part of the Bury St Edmunds ‘wolf trail’, and these wolves were subsequently auctioned off.  (Managing Director Bill Hiron actually bought the wolf himself!!)

The Stephensons nominated charity for our Suffolk bus operations is the East Anglian Air Ambulance, and Bill Hiron was delighted to forward a cheque to the charity for £400.

Stephensons are sure the donation will be put to very good use!!

Stephensons is thrilled to be increasing service frequency for Halstead.

We are delighted to annouce that buses 38/38A will be running through to Halstead every 30 minutes from Monday February 1st.  Alternate journeys will run either as bus 38 via Freeport or as bus 38A via Alec Hunter Academy en route to Witham, and buses will continue to serve Gosfield, Bocking, Braintree, Tye Green and Silver End.

We are also making some relatively minor alterations to the timetable in the light of our first 2 months experience of running these new services - these affect some early morning and evening buses.

New timetable leaflets will be available nearer to the start date but in the meanwhile you can see the new times here.

There are also minor changes to the afternoon bus times on route 21 to Black Notley, to try to improve the reliability of the service at the worst of the afternoon school run.  Those times can be viewed here.

There are no changes in February to the times of the Essex County Council supported evening and Sunday buses 21 and 352, but they may be altered from April 10th.  Essex County Council will announce further details when they have concluded their current tendering exercise.

Thank you for your support for our new Braintree area buses since we started running them late last year!  We hope to welcome you on board in 2016, please come and try our brand new buses - 5 already in service and another one due in February.

Welcome to the New Year!  All of our services are now running to their normal timetables again and schoolday services start on Monday January 4th, except where the schhol served is still on holiday until the 5th.

Thank you for supporting our services in 2015, we look forward to welcoming you on board in 2016.

We know this may be tempting fate, but we are pleased to say that the roadworks in Maldon, Heybridge and Great Totham all seem to be over and bus 90 is back to its normal route!  Thank you for your patience and understanding over the rather trying past few weeks.
